Assessment Centres

How can you make sure you have the right people with the correct skills, abilities and personality to fit your organisation?

Assessment techniques enable you to define particular skills and values.

Research has shown that Assessment Centres based around competency-focused exercises are the most accurate predictor of future performance.

What is an Assessment Centre?

- A process not a place
- Several Candidates (4-12) observed together
- Multiple exercises
- Opportunity to observe behaviour, supported by
trained observers
- A systematic assessment process

Assessment Centre Design

Your assessment centre will be tailored to your exact needs, taking into account your organisation's culture. We will work with you to put a competency framework in place including job analysis, job descriptions and person specifications. It can include combinations of the following:

- Competency Based Interviews
- Fact finding and in-tray exercises
- Group discussions
- Analysis and presentation exercises either
individually or in a group
- Negotiation exercises
- Individual presentations
- Numerical reasoning tests
- Verbal reasoning tests.
- Personality Questionnaires

Our consultants are accredited users of a range of personality questionnaires that can be included in your assessment centre.

We offer

- Production of quality graphical reports in relation to
the statistical data
- Narrative reports from which selection decisions
can be made
- Application of equal opportunities legislation in
selection and recruitment
- Design, delivery and training of structured
interviews
- Interview feedback

Outcomes

The outcome from an Assessment Centre is a balanced judgment on each candidate, enabling a selection to be made. Our consultants are trained to facilitate the moderation of 'scores' at the end of an assessment centre and give clear presentation of the information on which they are based.
